How to start using your camera in manual and take control of your photos

Learn how to start taking control of you photos by switching your camera to manual and setting your camera settings

Today I'm going to do my best to explain how to set your camera into manual. I just want to disclose that I am not a professional photographer. I have done a lot of reading and practicing on learning to use my camera in manual. So I thought I'd share what I learned, and hopefully it will help you. I'm going to try to keep this as simple as I can.

Better Photos Using Lightroom for Your Blog

So I wanted to address how I use lightroom 4 to edit my photos. I cover white balance, exposure, noise reduction and a couple other quick tips. Hope this helps. If there is something that I didn't cover that you have a question on or something I didn't explain clearly, please let me know and I'll try to better address that.

Coffee table

I finally finished my coffee table. I had originally planned to spray it gold.. but decided to go with a dark wax instead.. We had had this super chunky upholstered ottoman that had been great with the kids growing up but it was definitely time to change it up.

Make your base moulding stand out, and for a price you can afford.

make a statement with your baseboards

Lets talk base molding. You see it in every house. Most builder grade homes like ours will have your small about 2 inch tall base moldings. While most people probably don't think twice about the height or thickness of their moldings, there is a lot that base moldings can bring to a room.

The picture above, on the left, shows what is throughout our house. The picture on the right is what we are installing as we redo room to room.

Media Solutions and first LINK UP PARTY!!!

Don't you love all those put together living rooms, with no tv's just a magnificent fire place, pristine couches, perfect throw pillows?.... wait what? you don't live like that? ME either.. ours is normally strewn with toys, pillows are normally on the ground or being thrown at one another. With two busy kiddos my living room normally looks like a war zone, with a Adam sleeping on one couch through all of it. Wait a second that may explain it.. he slept through mortar attacks guess that makes sense.

So with all that said we are currently in the process of redoing our living room. I found a wonderful old buffet that our tv currently sits on but its a mess.. a jungle of cords, components ect.. I have been on pinterest here and there and have found a few good ideas..  like this one from Lucky Me Studios

Paige added hinges to the drawer face.. brilliant..

So please share with me your media area.. solutions to cord issues, component issues, you decor in that area. Would love to see some ideas. I will do a round up of all my faves..

Kinley's Despicably Cute Valentines

Kinley will be having her first Valentines pre-school party soon. To celebrate we made these oh so despicable valentines. We are big fans of the movie here, and who doesn't love the adorable minions?

We got the idea from here and added to it. http://www.thebensonstreet.com/2014/01/16/easy-printable-minion-valentine/

Supplies:
Twinkies
cards stock in black white and grey
permeant marker
glue
cups
tissue paper.

I got all these supplies at walmart. The cups and tissue paper were on the Valentines isle. I think they were .97 cents for a group of 5.

Here is the printable I made to glue to the cups.
